Overview of Sea Moss

WHAT EXACTLY IS SEA MOSS?
Sea moss is a type of algae that contains 92 of the 102 important nutrients and minerals, including iron, B vitamins, protein, iodine, zinc, calcium, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, selenium, and vitamin C. Irish moss is considered a vegan gluten-free source of most nutrients. It's an alkaline, mineral-rich diet that can aid in pH balance, hydration, and ability to heal on several levels. Many people also believe that it can improve your skin and hair care while also being beneficial to your overall health.
The three types of sea moss are Chondrus Crispus, also known as "Irish Moss," Golden Gracilaria, and Eucheuma Cottonii. Eucheuma Cottonii thrives in warm climates like Jamaica and St. Lucia. It's widely available and packed with nutrients. Irish sea moss, also known as carrageen, grows on the rocky coasts of North America's Atlantic and European oceans. In warmer waters, the Gracilaria species flourishes (i.e. the Caribbean Sea, Atlantic and Pacific Oceans). These are mainly open ocean currents that are always flowing and have significantly clearer waters. Our sea moss comes from the stunning, crystal blue waters of St. Lucia.
